Drury tied for 3rd after first round at GLVC Tournament

SMITHVILLE, Mo.— The Drury Panthers are tied for third after the first round of stroke play at the Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex in Smithville, Missouri, on Sunday. High winds postponed the second round of the tournament to Monday morning.
 
25th ranked Missouri-St. Louis has an eight stroke lead in the tournament after 18 holes as the Tritons shot a seven-over-par 295. McKendree is in second after posting a +15, 303. Drury, Indianapolis, and Missouri S&T are all tied for third after posting a 21-over-par 309.
 
Clayton Kaiser leads the Panthers and is tied for eighth after shooting 75 (+3) in Sunday’s opening round. Hunter Jowers is tied for 13th with a 77 (+5), and Walker Tynes is six-over-par (78) and tied for 16th. Alex Wiseman shot a +7, 79 and is tied for 20th, while Cooper Hess is tied for 40th after his opening round 83 (+11).
 
Carl Miltun from Missouri S&T leads the tournament after shooting a two-under-par 70 on Sunday. He enters the second round with a three-shot lead over three other players tied for second.
 
The second round of the GLVC starts at 8 a.m. on Monday. The top four teams in the 54-hole stroke play round will advance to a four-team, match-play tournament on Tuesday.
