Drury in second after first round of Music City Invitational

OLD HICKORY, Tenn.— Drury is in second place and just one shot off the lead at the Music City Invitational hosted by Trevecca Nazarene at the Hermitage Golf Course General’s Retreat in Old Hickory, Tennessee. The Panthers shot one- over-par as a team, shooting 289 and trail Missouri S&T by just one stroke in the 12-team tournament. Maryville and Trevecca Nazarene are tied for third at two-over-par. 

Hunter Jowers shot two-under-par 70 in Monday’s opening round and is tied for fifth in a field of 61 players. The sophomore from Jonesboro, Arkansas, will enter Tuesday’s final round one shot behind four others tied for first at three-under-par. Alex Wiseman is tied for seventh after shooting a one-under-par 71. Cooper Hess is tied for 13th (72), Clayton Kaiser is tied for 37th (76), and Walker Tynes shot a six-over-par 78 and is tied for 47th. 

Caleb Bond from Ferris State, Gustav Lilijedel of Missouri S&T, Maryville’s Austin Fauser, and Joey Friedel from Missouri S&T are all tied for first after 18 holes on Monday. 

The second and final round will have a shotgun start on Tuesday at 8 am in Old Hickory, Tennessee, outside of Nashville.
