Men’s Golf Climbs Leaderboard Day Two at Hootie

A strong moving day helped the Tigers move up one spot during the second round at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate in Awendaw, South Carolina.

With a team score of -12 Monday, Mizzou carded the second-best result of the day and is now fifth of 15 schools in the team standings. The Tigers are in a three-team logjam where only three shots separate second from fifth, while sixth place is nine strokes back of MU.

Individually, junior Jack Lundin led the Tigers with a five-under 67 on the day. Ludin tallied six birdies to go with just one bogey to rise 25 spots in the individual rankings to 30th on Monday.

Freshman Alfons Bondesson and sophomore Dawson Meek also recorded their second-straight rounds of 68 to improve to -8 for the tournament. The duo both head into the final round of the tournament in a tie for sixth place, while senior Charlie Crockett is two strokes back at -6 and in 13th place after carding an even-par 72 on Monday.

The final day of action is set for Tuesday morning with the first Tiger slated to tee off at 7:27 a.m. CT.
