D’Moi Hodge Selected for 3-Point Championship

One of the top 3-point shooters in the country, D’Moi Hodge of the Missouri men’s basketball team is one of eight student-athletes in the nation selected for the TaxAct Men’s 3-Point Championship, held at next week’s State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships.

Hodge is set to battle with the nation’s best at the Bayou Music Center in downtown Houston on Thursday, March 30 with the event beginning at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN2. Hodge is the first Tiger to earn an invite since Marcus Denmon in 2012.

A national leader from beyond the arc, Hodge ranks 32nd in the country with 2.86 triples per game plus 37th nationally and first in the SEC with a 3-point clip of 40.0. During the 2022-23 campaign, Hodge became just the fifth Tiger in school history with 100 made 3-pointers in a season and the first since 2017-18.

Overall, Hodge finished the season second on the team with 14.7 points per game, while also setting a program record with 91 steals and placing fourth nationally with 2.60 swipes per game.

A complete roster of participants in the 2023 State Farm College Slam Dunk & 3-Point Championships will be released in the days leading up to the event. The winner of the men’s championship will also face off against the women’s winner in the Rocket Mortgage Battle of the Champions Thursday night. Tickets for the event are on sale now and can be purchased by visiting www.collegeslam.com and www.houstonhoopshouse.com.

Hodge helped lead Mizzou to a successful season during the 2022-23 campaign. The Tigers finished with 25 victories – their most in 11 seasons – while claiming their first NCAA Tournament victory in 13 years and advancing to the SEC Tournament Semifinals for the first time in school history.
