Drury ties for 12th at Saginaw Valley St. Invitational

LEXINGTON, Ky.— Drury moved up two spots in the second and final round on Sunday to finish in a 12th place tie at the Saginaw Valley State Invitational played at the Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Kentucky.
 
The Panthers shot a 31-over-par, 607 to finish even with Hillsdale. Davenport won the tournament finishing with a +7, 583. McKendree was second (+10, 586) and Maryville (+14, 590) came in third.
 
Drury sophomore Hunter Jowers led the Panthers with a three-over-par 147 in the tournament and tied for 16th in the 123-player field. Clayton Kaiser had Drury’s best round of the tournament on Sunday, shooting an even-par 72 to finish with a +4, 148. The senior from Monett tied for 20th. Walker Tynes came in tied for 77th with an 11-over-par 155. Alex Wiseman tied for 87th, shooting 157 (+13), and Jack Day tied for 93rd with a +15, 159.
 
Alex Bishop from Purdue-Northwest won medalist honors with a two-under-par 142.
 
The Panthers return to action April 2-3 at the Music City Invitational hosted by Trevecca Nazarene in Nashville, Tennessee.
