Drury finishes 15th at Emerald Coast Classic

DESTIN, Fla.— The Drury Panthers finished 15th and Shehna Akbary tied for 10th at the Emerald Coast Classic hosted by Missouri-St. Louis at the Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, Florida, on Tuesday.
 
Drury shot finished 107-over-par with a team score of 959 in the 54-hole event. They were just shot back of Harding for 14th in the 17-team field. Henderson State ranked fourth nationally, won the tournament at 28-over-par finishing 23 shots ahead of Montevallo. Arkansas-Fort Smith, at +52, came in third.
 
Drury’s Shehna Akbary moved up one spot on the leaderboard on Tuesday to finish tied for 10th in the field of 89 players. The junior from Toronto, Ontario, ended the tournament at 11-over-par (224). She posted a 74 on Tuesday on the par-71 course.
 
Isabelle Thrall finished the tournament at 30-over-par to tie for 61st. Abby Howard came in tied for 64th at 32-over, and Grace Stafford tied for 75th with a +37, 250. Jacie Pattengill posted +44 to finish 80th
 
Gracen Blount from Henderson State took medalist honors, shooting an even-par 213 in the tournament and won by four shots.
 
Drury competes again March 20-21 at the Midwest Intercollegiate tournament hosted by Central Missouri in Warrensburg.
