Panthers in 15th at Emerald Coast Classic

DESTIN, Fla.— The Drury women’s golf team is in 15th among 17 teams after two rounds of play at the Emerald Coast Classic hosted by Missouri-St. Louis at the Baytowne Golf Club in Destin, Florida on Monday.
 
The Panthers shot 72-over-par in 36 holes on Monday for a 640 total. Fourth-ranked Henderson State leads the tournament at 21-over-par, while number 23 West Florida is in second at 34-over-par. Flager, ranked 13th nationally, is in third at +38.
 
Shehna Akbary is tied for 11th in the field of 89 players after shooting an eight-over-par 150. The junior from Toronto, Ontario, shot 76 in the first round, then followed with a two-over-par 74 in her second 18 holes.
 
Abby Howard is tied for 61st with a +20, 162, and Isabelle Thrall posted a 22-over-par 164 to be tied for 66th. Grace Stafford is tied 69th with a 165, +23. Jacie Pattengill shot 174 at 34-over-par and is tied for 82nd.
 
Lily Nelson from Henderson State leads the tournament with a two-over-par 144. She leads her teammate, Gracen Blount, by one stroke going into Tuesday’s round.
 
The tournament concludes with the third and final round on Tuesday in Destin, Fla.
