Lady Panthers still number two in NCAA-II poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Lady Panthers enter the NCAA-II Tournament ranked number two nationally in the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association poll.
 
Drury is 30-1 and, last weekend, won their seventh straight Great Lakes Valley Conference championship.
 
Ashland (31-0) is ranked number one this week as the top five in the national poll remained the same from last week. Tampa (30-1) is ranked third, Glenville State (29-2) is fourth, and Grand Valley State (29-2) is fifth.

The week’s poll marks the 151st consecutive week the Lady Panthers have been ranked in the top 25, the longest such streak in the nation. It is also their 89th straight week to be ranked in the top 10.
 
Drury enters the NCAA-II Tournament on Friday when they take on Lewis at 1:30 pm (Central) in Ashland, Ohio. The eight-team field at the Midwest Regional in Ashland features three teams ranked in the top five and four teams in the top 25. Ashland is ranked first, the Lady Panthers are ranked number two in the nation and Grand Valley State is fifth. Michigan Tech, the fourth seed in the regional, is ranked 23rd in this week’s poll.
