Drury roars to semifinal win over Indianapolis

 
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – Two nights after getting a scare in the quarterfinals, the Drury Lady Panthers provided no such drama in the semifinals with a 105-69 win over Indianapolis at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Missouri, on Saturday.
 
The win was Drury’s 25^th in a row, raising their record to 29-1. Indianapolis, the number four seed in the tournament, ended their season at 18-12.
 
The Lady Panthers, the tournament’s top seed, never trailed and raced to a 25-15 lead after the first quarter, then built a 50-32 advantage at halftime. Drury expanded the lead in the third period and led by as much as 41 in the fourth quarter.
 
“It was completely different from Thursday with how dialed in we were, our focus, and our execution,” said Drury head coach Amy Eagan. “I thought we were active and communicated really well.”
 
Kaylee DaMitz-Holt led Drury with 25 points on 8 of 12 shooting from the floor. The graduate student also went 4 for 7 from three-point range and added three assists and two steals. Alana Findley added 16 points, while Catilynn Daniels came off the bench to add 13. Terrion Moore chipped in 13 points, four rebounds and five steals.
 
The Lady Panthers owned a 47-30 rebound advantage and grabbed 19 offensive boards to Indianapolis’ four. Drury ended the game with only 10 turnovers and forced the Greyhounds into 25 turnovers. The Lady Panthers had 18 steals in the contest.
 
Patricia Chikumba led the Greyhounds with 15 points.
 
Drury’s 105 points marked a season high and was the first time this season they broke the century mark.
 
The Lady Panthers will seek their seventh-straight league title on Sunday at 3:30 pm against the winner of the other semifinal game, second-seeded Lewis or number three seed Truman State.
