Vilches Named to All-SEC Second Team

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The University of Missouri Track and Field team’s Roberto Vilches earned All-SEC Second Team honors as announced by the league office on Tuesday.

Vilches earned the accolade with a second-place finish in the high jump at the indoor conference championships over the weekend. The senior claimed silver by clearing a season-best height of 2.21m.

The achivement is the latest in the decorated career for the current school record holder and a three-time NCAA All-American.

Vilches competed in the high jump on two previous occasions this season, he cleared 2.16m to finish second at the Don Kirby Elite invitational on Feb. 11 and took seventh with a mark of 2.16m at the Texas Tech Open on Jan. 27.
