Kaylee DaMitz-Holt named GLVC Player of the Week for the third time this season

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury guard Kaylee DaMitz-Holt was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for her performance in two games during the week of Feb. 20-26.
 
DaMitz-Holt averaged 19.5 points and three steals per game as the Lady Panthers went 2-0 with wins over Illinois Springfield and Lewis. The Preston, Missouri, native and Skyline HS product shot 52 percent from the field in the two games, going 13 for 25 from the field. She also made 50 percent of her three-point attempts hitting 5 of 10 shots from behind the arc.
 
DaMitz-Holt had 21 points and four assists in Thursday’s win over Illinois Springfield. She also went 7 for 13 from the floor and 3 of 6 from three-point range. DaMitz-Holt followed that with a 19-point performance and clutch shooting in the regular season finale against second-place Lewis on Saturday. She scored 10 of Drury’s last 12 points in a 76-69 win over the Flyers and added five steals while hitting 6 of her 12 shots. 
 
The award marks the fourth time in her career and the third time this season she has won GLVC Player of the Week honors. DaMitz-Holt previously won the award this season on Nov. 14, and Dec. 20. It is also the fifth weekly award a Drury player has taken home this year. In addition to DaMitz-Holt’s previous awards, Terrion Moore was named the league’s Player of the Week on Nov. 21, and Alana Findley won the award on Jan. 9.
 
The Lady Panthers ended the regular season 27-1 and 20-0 in the GLVC. They will head to the conference tournament as the league’s top-seeded team and will play eighth-place Quincy on Thursday at 6 pm in Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Missouri.
