Lady Panthers face Lewis on Senior Day
Second-ranked Drury will take on Lewis on Senior Day at 3 pm on Saturday at the O’Reilly Family Event Center.

The Lady Panthers, ranked number two in NCAA-II, are 26-1, 19-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, and winners of 22 straight dating back to Nov. 23. Drury is also ranked second in this week’s Midwest Regional rankings.

Lewis is in second place in the GLVC with a 19-8 record overall and a 15-4 mark in the league. The Flyers have won eight in a row and are ranked seventh in this week’s Midwest Regional rankings.

Saturday marks the end of the regular season. The Lady Panthers will advance to the GLVC Tournament, March 2-5, in St. Charles, Missouri. The tournament will be seeded based on the league’s Point Rating System and the GLVC will announce the bracket and postseason schedule Saturday night.

DaMitz-Holt closes in on 2,000 career points
Drury guard Kaylee DaMitz-Holt passed 1,900 career points in last Thursday’s win at Indianapolis. The graduate student from Preston, Missouri, and Skyline HS enters Thursday’s game with 1,937 points combining her totals at Pittsburg State and Drury. DaMitz-Holt played three seasons at Pitt State where she scored 1,015 points. She also reached 600 career assists in Drury’s Feb. 11 win over Missouri-St. Louis and enters Thursday’s game with a total of 614. DaMitz-Holt has scored 922 points with Drury in her two years with the Lady Panthers.

GLVC unbeatens
Since 1983-84, only four women’s basketball teams have gone undefeated in the GLVC’s regular season. Drury has accomplished the feat three times, in 2005-06, 2018-19, and 2019-20. The 2019 and 2020 teams are the only two who have gone unbeaten in league play during the regular season and won the conference tournament in the same year.
