21st ranked Missouri Southern takes down Drury

JOPLIN, Mo.— 21st ranked Missouri Southern built a lead in the middle innings and picked up a 13-5 win over Drury on Tuesday in Joplin.
 
The Lions went to 9-4 while sending the Panthers to 5-2.
 
Drury built a 2-0 lead going into the bottom of the second, scoring on an RBI-doubles by Briar Stinson and Brooks Sunny.
 
Missouri Southern took the lead in the bottom of the second with three runs, then added single runs in the third and fourth. The Lions tacked on two more runs in the sixth, then two in the seventh, and put the game out of reach with four runs in the eighth.
 
Sunny went 3 for 5 with two doubles and an RBI and is now 9 for 15 at the plate in four games this season.
 
Treghan Parker was 3 for 5 for the Lions with two runs, three RBI’s, a triple and a stolen base. Garrett Price homered and had four runs batted in.
 
Kyle Moore (1-1) got the win in relief, going three innings and allowing just one run. Tyler Bastunas (0-1) took the loss for the Panthers.
 
Drury returns home this weekend to play a four-game series against Winona State. Game one is Friday at 3 pm at US Baseball Park in Ozark.
