Panthers deliver 4-3 loss to Newman

 
SPRINGFIELD, Mo.—The Drury Panthers won their fourth-straight match with a 4-3 win over Newman at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield on Saturday.
 
The Panthers improved to 4-1 and dropped the Jets to 1-1.
 
Drury took a 1-0 winning all three doubles matches. The Panthers then took a 3-0 lead after singles wins from Leana Chanova (6-2, 6-2), and Alma Abazi (6-1, 6-2). Newman got on the board with a win in the number six spot, and made it 3-2 as their top singles player, Dana Issabayeva pulled off a 6-4, 6-2 win over Nastasia Jedrychowski.
 
Ewa Samberger clinched the win for Drury with a 6-1, 6-4 win in the number three singles spot.
 
Drury plays again on Monday at 10 am when they Emporia State at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
