SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury picked up their first win of the season with a 5-2 win over Harding on Friday night at the Cooper Tennis Complex in Springfield.
The Panthers improved to 1-1, while the Bisons lost their season opener.
Harding took a 1-0 after doubles, but Drury took over the match in singles. Yaroslav Sharvy got the Panthers on the board with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Dani Ortiz. Sylvain Garin-Michaud, playing in Drury’s leading singles position, swept Teordor Zlatar 6-2, 6-1, and Tjade Bruns rallied from a first set loss to win 2-6, 6-3, 6-4. Louka Queguiner clinched the win for Drury with a 7-5, 7-6 victory over Edoadora D’Arrigo.
Drury returns to the court on Sunday to face Emporia State at 11 am at the Cooper Tennis Complex.
