Swim and Dive Caps Regular Season With a Victory Against SUI

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 22/RV Missouri men’s and women’s swimming and diving team both took home the victory in its final home meet of the season against SIU. The men’s team wrapped up a 190-99 win, while the women’s team took a 199-88 decision.

The Tigers earned sweeps in 10 different events and Mizzou topped the podium in all but two events.


Women’s 200 Yard Medley Relay

The Tigers started off the meet strong by sweeping the podium, as Mizzou A finished with a 1:38.69. Mizzou B took second with a 1:40.15, while Mizzou C rounded out the podium with a 1:40.58.

Men’s 200 Yard Medley Relay

The Mizzou A team put in a stellar performance, posting a time of 1:24.51 to jump nine spots from No. 25 to No. 16 in the nation. The Tigers’ B and C team rounded out the podium by taking second and third, respectively.

Women’s 1000 Yard Freestyle

Junior Jane Smith took first with a time of 10:04.82.

Men’s 1000 Yard Freestyle

Sophomore Jibran Himsieh won his race with a 9:21.76, while freshman Thomas Joswiak finished third, posting a 9:37.40.

Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle

The Tigers secured another sweep in the 200 free, with fifth year Molly Gowans taking home the victory with a 1:47.28, with senior Macy Rink edging out sophomore Taylor Williams for second.

Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle

Mizzou claimed the sweep, as junior Frederik Rindshøj paced the pack with a 1:36.09. Sophomore Grant Bochenski and freshman Jakub Nissen followed in second and third, respectively.

Women’s 100 Yard Backstroke

Senior Meredith Rees won another race for the Tigers with a 52.90, while sophomore Colleen Duffy earned a podium finish, taking third with a 55.74.

Men’s 100 Yard Backstroke

Two Tigers placed on the podium, with freshman Sam Brown taking a runner-up spot with a 48.04 while senior Ben Patton followed with 48.10 to earn third. 

Women’s 100 Yard Breaststroke

Mizzou placed one-two, with freshman Malin Grosse taking the top spot with a 1:00.64 while senior Katrina Brathwaite secured a runner-up finish with a 1:01.65.

Men’s 100 Yard Breaststroke

The Tigers earned another sweep finish, with graduate student Eric Storms leading the charge with a 53.76. Freshman Will Gallagher and sophomore Ty Spillane took second and third on the podium, with a 54.76 and 54.78, respectively.

Women’s 200 Yard Butterfly

Sophomore Brecken Merkel took home top honors with a 2:00.59, while senior Lili Horvath finished right behind with a 2:01.33.

Men’s 200 Yard Butterfly

All four Tigers finished within the top four, with Clement Secchi taking the win with a 1:43.25. Jan Zubik and Noah Scheuermann rounded out podium with a 1:44.41 and 

Women’s 50 Yard Freestyle

The Tigers swept the podium with junior Sierra Smith’s 23.19 edging out teammate sophomore Ashley Gill 23.27 for the top spot. Grace Hanson finished third with a 23.37.

Men’s 50 Yard Freestyle

Fifth year Jack Dahlgren earned another win for the Tigers with a 19.72, while senior Kevin Hammer earned a podium finish, swimming 20.03 to take third.

Women’s 100 Yard Freestyle

Mizzou earned another sweep, with senior Alex Moderski earning a sub 50-second time of 49.69, while Duffy earned her second podium finish with a 51.59. Senior Amy Feddersen rounded out the podium with a 51.74.

Men’s 100 Yard Freestyle

Two Tigers earned the top-two positions, as junior Daniel Wilson claimed the victory with a 43.75, while Storms earned his second podium finish of the morning with a 44.20.

Women’s 200 Yard Backstroke

Mizzou took first and third, as freshman Fernanda de Goeij topped the podium for the Tigers with a 1:57.22, while sophomore Abbey Taute earned a podium finish with a 2:01.33.

Men’s 200 Yard Backstroke

The Tigers swept the race, as Dahlgren earned his second win of the afternoon.

Women’s 200 Yard Breaststroke

Grosse earned her second breaststroke victory of the day with a 2:10.73, while Karolina Bank took third place with 2:16.85.

Men’s 200 Yard Breaststroke

Rindshøj topped the podium for the second time in the meet, clocking in at 2:00.07.

Women’s 500 Yard Freestyle

Gowans earned her second win of the morning for the Tigers with a 4:50.84, while Rink took her second podium finish with a 4:53.48.

Freshman Ben Lewis took home the victory with a 4:28.09.

Women’s 100 Yard Butterfly

Williams picked up her first win in her second event of the day with a 53.38.

Secchi took his second victory of the meet with a 46.05.

Women’s 400 Yard IM

de Goeij won her second race of the day with a 4:16.90.

Men’s 400 Yard IM

Nissen took home the victory with a 3:53.03, while Scheuermann finished runner up with a 4:00.04.

Women’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay

The Tigers swept the podium, as Missouri A led the way with 1:30.74, while Missouri B and Missouri B followed with a 1:31.13 and 1:33.96, respectively.

Men’s 200 Yard Freestyle Relay

Missouri A earned a win for the Tigers with a 1:19.17, while Missouri B took the podium at 1:21.30.


Women’s 1-Meter

Freshman Kamryn Wong topped the podium with a 270.95.

Men’s 1-Meter

Junior Jude Dierker led the way for the Tigers, finishing second with a score of 267.20.

Women’s 3-Meter

Wong swept the women’s diving events with a 296.65. Junior Kayla Wilson finished second with a 247.35.

Men’s 3-Meter

Senior Carlo Lopez took the top spot with a 350.40 score. Dierker took second once again with a 325.10.
