Drury travels to Illinois Springfield in middle game of road trip
Fresh off of an overtime win at Lewis on Thursday, the Panthers continue their three-game, six-day road trip on Saturday at Illinois Springfield.
 
Drury is 6-8 and 2-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference after a 79-78 overtime victory at Lewis. The Panthers enter Saturday’s game winners of three of their last four contests.
 
Illinois Springfield also won in overtime on Thursday as they edged Southwest Baptist 63-61 at home. The Prairie Stars are 10-5 and 4-3 in the GLVC.
 
Drury concludes the road trip on Monday when they travel to Quincy for a 7:30 pm.
 
Logan’s Run
Drury guard Logan Applegate has scored at least 20 points in each of his last three games and in four of the last five contests. The freshman from Nevada, Missouri, had 22 points on Thursday at Lewis. He had 24 points against Indianapolis on Jan. 7, and 31 in Drury’s win over McKendree on Jan. 5. Applegate had 14 against St. Mary on Dec. 31, and broke out for 26 at Southern Arkansas on Dec. 19. He is averaging 23.4 points during the last five games and 11.6 for the season.

Drury leads the all-time series against Illinois Springfield 14-3. The two teams split last year’s games, with the home team winning both times. The Prairie Stars took the game on their court 80-76 and the Panthers won the contest at The O’, 62-61.
