Lady Panthers move up to 7th in this week’s NCAA-II poll

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Lady Panthers moved up three spots in this week’s NCAA-II Women’s Basketball Coaches Association poll and are ranked seventh in the nation.
 
Grand Valley State (4-0) remained the nation’s number one ranked team, while West Texas A&M received two first-place votes and is ranked second.
 
The Lady Panthers are 4-0 and tonight host third-ranked Ashland. The Eagles are 5-0 and won in Springfield yesterday with a 96-88 victory over Truman State. Wednesday night’s game will be the fifth all-time meeting between Drury and Ashland. The four previous encounters were in the NCAA-II Tournament, and three of those games decided the Midwest Regional Championship. The all-time series is tied 2-2.
 
Tipoff of tonight’s game is at 5:30 pm in the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
 
The week’s first poll marks the 137th consecutive week the Lady Panthers have been ranked in the top 25, the longest streak in the nation. It is also their 75th straight week to be ranked in the top 10.
