Jenkins Earns Valley Swimming and Diving Freshman of the Week

ST. LOUIS – After her performance in last week’s Purdue Invitational, Missouri State women’s swimmer Ainsley Jenkins was selected Missouri Valley Conference Swimming and Diving Freshman of the Week, the league announced today.
 

In the 200-yard freestyle finals of last week’s invitational, Jenkins notched a career-best time of 1:51.99, smashing her preliminary mark by nearly two seconds (1:53.88). Her time currently sits as eighth fastest in the MVC. In addition, Jenkins recorded a time of 5:00.59 in the 500-yard freestyle finals, a mark that currently ranks 10th in the conference. Jenkins also recorded a lifetime-best mark in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 17:23.97, ranking 13th in The Valley.  
 

MoState returns to the pool Saturday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. for a dual versus in-state foe Missouri in Columbia, Mo.
