Missouri State Bears Cruise To Opening Night Win Over Missouri S&T 82-47

The Missouri State Bears roll to an 82-47 opening night win against the Missouri S&T Miners at Great Southern Bank Arena Wednesday night.

The Bears led from start to finish, jumping out to a quick 13-5 lead on the strength of three pointers from Bryan Trimble, Jr. and Kendle Moore, along with a traditional three by Jonathan Mogbo, who hit a shot, got fouled, and drained a free throw.

The Miners got within six at 18-12 on Andrew Young’s three pointer with 12:04 left in the first half, but the Bears answered with an 8-0 run to go ahead 26-12 midway through the opening half.

MSU carried a 51-25 lead into the locker room at halftime, and Coach Dana Ford was able to utilize his bench for much of the second half.

Sophomore guard Chance Moore led all scorers with 18 points for Missouri State on 6-10 shooting from the floor, including three shots from beyond the arc.

Moore picked up six of MSU’s 46 rebounds. The Miners pulled down 23 rebounds as a team.

Alston Mason added 13 points and Jonathan Mogbo put in 11.

Missouri State (1-0) shot 55% as a team (32-58), while the Miners, who counted the game as an exhibition, shot 31%.

The Bears will play at Brigham Young Wednesday, November 16th at 8 p.m.
