Weimer wins GLVC Runner of the Year as DU women’s cross country finishes fourth at GLVC Championships
 
Elsah, Ill.— Sophomore Bradley Weimer wins the 6,000-meter race at the GLVC Championships in Elsah Illinois to claim the GLVC Runner of the Year. The Panthers overall finished fourth overall with 79 points.
 
The Springfield Central product ran a career-best 22:00.92 6,000-meter run as she put herself fourth all-time in Drury history in the 6,000-meter race behind Claire McCune, Erin Dolan, and Katie McCune. Weimer is also Drury’s third GLVC Runner of the Year since 2017. Claire McCune hoisted the crown in both 2017 and 2018. She finished 13 seconds ahead of second-place finisher Melissa Spencer of Indianapolis.
 
The Panthers had two other runners earn All-GLVC honors in junior Zoe Van Dijk and senior Jayme-Sue Vermaas. Van Dijk finished in eighth place with a time of 22:49.74 while Vermaas finished 12th with a time of 23:08.28. Rounding out the top five for Drury was sophomore Mia Harris in 30th with a time of 23:45.92 and sophomore Brylee Gogel finished 32nd with a time of 23:52.75. The Panthers finished fourth behind Lewis, Southwest Baptist, and Indianapolis.
 
Drury will race again at the NCAA-II Midwest Regional on November 19th in Kenosha Wisconsin.
