SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– Drury and Illinois Springfield goalkeepers traded several impressive saves and held their opponent off of the scoreboard as the Panthers and Prairie Stars fought to a 0-0 tie at Harrison Stadium on Friday night.
Drury went to 6-2-7 and 3-2-6 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Illinois Springfield went to 7-6-3 and 6-4-1 in the league.
Panthers goalie Kaitlin Knetzke had seven saves; two of them were lunging stops in the second half that kept the game even. The shutout was Knetzke’s 10th of the season, tied for the most nationally in NCAA-II.
Allison Mirmanian made four saves for Illinois Springfield.
The Prairie Stars had the advantage in shots 12-8. Elsa Gonzalez and Andrea Camargo both had two shots to lead Drury, while Ally Lassetter and Corrine Stewart had a pair of shots each for Illinois Springfield.
Drury ends the regular season on Sunday when they host Lewis at noon at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
