Panthers closes regular season with home matches vs. Illinois Springfield and Lewis
The Panthers wrap up the 2022 regular season with two matches against Illinois Springfield and Lewis. Drury hosts both the Prairie Stars and Flyers, playing Illinois Springfield at 7:30 pm on Friday and then Lewis on Sunday at 2:30 pm. Both matches will be played at Harrison Stadium.

Drury is coming off a 1-1 draw at McKendree. Defender John Clout scored his first goal of the year late in the first half, helping the Panthers to a tie. Illinois Springfield is currently on an eight-game unbeaten streak, with their most recent result a 2-0 win over William Jewell at home. Max Tweddle and Billy Nzojyibwami ensured that the Prairie Stars with goals in that contest. Lewis is also on an unbeaten streak, with theirs at five games. Their 5-1 win over Rockhurst is not only their largest margin of victory this season but also the most goals they have scored all year. Cristian Perez’s hat trick was the headline of the game as he increased his season total to seven.

Drury is led by forward Kaelen Debbage, who leads the league in points and goals with 19 points and eight goals. Midfielder Nathan Logue has three goals and three assists. Forward Jamie O’Brien is tied with Logue for goals at three. Tyler Frolik has been the goalkeeper for most of the year and is third in the league in save percentage at .814.

Illinois Springfield is led by forward Billy Nzojyibwami, who is tied for fourth in the GLVC with six goals but does have a better goals-per-game record, scoring six in only eight games. Forward Max Tweddle is second in goals for the Prairie Stars with four. He also has provided two assists on the season. Midfielder Conal Gallagher leads the Prairie Stars and is tied for third in the conference in assists with five.

Lewis is led by midfielder Cristian Perez, whose seven goals are tied for second in the GLVC, one goal behind Debbage. Forward Zahkar Shkidchenko is second on the Flyers in goals, with three to his name. Sebastian Doppelhofer has been the main man between the sticks for the Flyers. His .829 save percentage and .66 goals-against-average places him second in the conference in both categories.

Following the two games, the Panthers will have concluded the regular season schedule. The GLVC Tournament starts on October 30th with the quarterfinals.
