Drury finishes in seventh place at Music City Invitational
MURFREESBORO, Tenn.— Drury stayed put in the rankings and finished in seventh place in a 14-team field at the Music City Invitational, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene, at the Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Tuesday.
The Panthers finished 59-over-par after 36 holes and finished 16 shots behind Illinois-Springfield for sixth. Drury ended up two strokes in front of eighth-place Northwood. Missouri-St. Louis wins the tournament over UT Permian Basin by two strokes.
Isabelle Thrall led Drury and tied for 23rd in a 79-player field, shooting 11 over par. Shehna Akbary is one spot behind Thrall in 25th, shooting 12 over, while Carmen Fletcher shot 19 over and Abby Howard and Grace Stafford shot 20 over par.
Tove Brunnell from Missouri-St. Louis was the overall medalist, shooting 5 under par, one shot better than Ainsley Cowary from West Georgia.
The Panthers will wrap up the regular season at the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational, October 29-30.
