Drury in 7th place after first round of Music City Invitational

MURFREESBORO, Tenn.— Drury is in seventh place in a 14-team field after the opening round at the Music City Invitational, hosted by Trevecca Nazarene, at the Old Fort Golf Club in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on Monday.
 
The Panthers are 30-over-par after 18 holes and are 14 shots behind Christian Brothers for sixth, and Drury is two strokes in front of eighth-place Trevecca Nazarene. Texas-Permian Basin is five-over-par and leads the tournament by three shots over 13th ranked Missouri-St. Louis.
 
Isabelle Thrall leads Drury and is tied for 13th in a 79-player field after shooting a three-over-par 75. Shenka Akbary is tied for 21st at five-over-par, while Carman Fletch and Grace Stafford are both tied for 46th (+11). Abby Howard shot 86 on Monday and is tied for 58th at 14-over.
 
Tove Brunnell from Missouri-St. Louis is three-under-par and leads the tournament by one shot over Anaya Perales from UT-Permian Basin and Sydney Hugo from Walsh.
 
The second and final round begins at 9 am on Tuesday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
