Chloe Rear named GLVC Offensive Player of the Week and selected to All-Crossover Tournament team

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury senior Chloe Rear was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week in volleyball and was selected on the All-Midwest Region Crossover Tournament team after her performance in three matches last weekend.
 
The Panthers went 3-0 last weekend in the Crossover tournament in Hammond, Indiana, and Rear posted a .433 hitting percentage to go along with 2.75 kills per set and 8.08 assists per set during those contests. The Strafford product also had 12 aces in Drury’s three matches, averaging one per set. She also averaged 2.08 digs and 0.67 blocks per set last week. Rear registered a triple-double in Saturday’s game against Kentucky Wesleyan, turning in 14 kills, 33 assists and 10 digs while producing a .480 hitting percentage in her team’s five-set win. The triple-double was the 15^th of her career at Drury, adding to the program record she owns. Rear had 46 assists and 14 kills in Drury’s tournament opener, a 3-1 win over Purdue-Northwest on Friday.
 
The award marks the first time Rear has won the league’s weekly honor and it is the first time a Drury player has earned the award this season.
 
The Panthers return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Arkansas Tech for a 6 pm game in Russellville. Drury is back at home for two matches this weekend as they host McKendree on Friday at 6 pm, then Indianapolis at 3 pm on Saturday in the O’Reilly Family Event Center.
