12th ranked McKendree holds off Drury 3-1

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– 12th ranked McKendree remained undefeated as they held off Drury for a 3-1 on Sunday in Lebanon, Illinois.
 
The Panthers lost for only the second time this season and dropped to 6-2-6 and 3-2-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bearcats went to 12-0-3 and 8-0-2 in the league.
 
McKendree scored a pair of goals in the first half, the first coming in the 15th minute from Reagan Mauch, her second of the year. Anna Stiffler put in her 11th goal of the season in the 35th minute giving the Bearcats a 2-0 lead at halftime.
 
Mauch scored her second goal of the game in the 74th minute to put McKendree up 3-0, but the Panthers got on the board 87th minute as Jenna Peterson got her second score of the year with an assist from Keely Combs.
 
McKendree had a 13-6 advantage in shots and Drury goalkeeper Kaitlin Knetzke made four saves in the loss.
 
The Panthers are back at home on Friday when they host Illinois Springfield for a 5 pm game at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
