DU men’s team wins, women’s squad falls in duals at Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury men’s swimming & diving team won their dual at Missouri State, while the women’s squad lost to the Bears on Friday night at Hammons Student Center in Springfield. The DU men’s team won 136-107 and Missouri State took the women’s dual 157-80.
 
Men’s Highlights

  • Drury opened the dual with a win in the 400 Medley Relay as Nathan Bighetti, Dominik Karacic, Davi Mourao, and Kham Glass combined for a time of 3:20.93 and won by nearly four seconds
  • Cameron Craig took the 50 Free (20.99), with Glass coming in second (21.07)
  • Alejandro Villarejo tied for first with teammate Joao Nogueria in the 200 Individual Medley as both touched the wall in 1:54.44
  • Cole Earl won both diving events taking the one-meter with 356.32 points and the three-meter with 315.90 points
  • Villarejo also won the 200 Butterfly (1:58.32)
  • Glass was first in the 100 Free (46.13)
  • Anisse Djaballah finished first in the 500 Free with a time of 4:37.64
  • Davi Mourao won the 200 Breaststroke posting a time of 2:03.41
  • The Panthers clinched the win in the 400 Free Relay, winning by just 0.08 seconds as Craig, Villarejo, Djaballah, and Bighetti posted a time of 3:05.47

 
Women’s Highlights

  • Kasia Rogowska won the 50 Free with a time of 23.88
  • Lexie Waller was first in the 200 Breaststroke and won by five seconds as she posed a time of 2:04.03
  • Rogowska posted a second-place finish in the 100 Free (52.23) and was out-touched at the wall by 0.05 seconds
  • Drury closed the night with a win in the 400 Free Relay as Rogowska, Ashlyn Moore, Ellie Walker, and Josie Bushell combined for a time of 3:29.12

 
Both Drury teams compete again Nov. 4-5 when they host the Drury Invitational at the Breech Pool.
