Jamie O’Brien’s two goals helps Panthers to 3-3 tie at Missouri S&T

ROLLA, Mo. – Drury forward Jamie O’Brien scored two goals, including one with 9:23 remaining that tied the game in a 3-3 draw at Missouri S&T on Sunday.
 
The Panthers remained unbeaten in the Great Lakes Valley Conference going to 2-0-4 in the league and 4-1-5 overall. The Miners went to 2-4-4 and 1-2-4 in the GLVC.
 
O’Brien gave Drury a 1-0 lead 10 minutes into the game with his first goal of the season. Missouri S&T’s Jason Jorgensen scored twice, with goals coming two minutes apart midway through the first half to give the Miners a 2-1 lead. Kaelan Debbage then put in his seventh goal of the year in the 27th minute that deadlocked the game at 2-2 going to halftime.
 
Missouri S&T snared a 3-2 advantage in the 74th minute on a goal from Sigurd Semlitsch with an assist from Jorgensen, who added his fifth point of the game.
 
O’Brien evened the game seven minutes later with an assist from Debbage and salvaged a point on the road for the Panthers.
 
His second goal marked the sixth multi-goal game of his career and moved him to sixth on Drury’s all-time goals list with 30, tying him with Josh Keister (1995-98).
 
The Panthers are back on the field Friday when they host Maryville for a 7:30 pm game at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
