Drury Athletics to partner with KICK FM & AM to broadcast men’s and women’s basketball

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury University and Vision Communications have agreed to a partnership to broadcast Drury Panthers and Lady Panthers basketball games live on KICK Radio, 92.3 FM and 1340 AM. The three-year agreement provides live broadcast coverage of the entire regular and postseason for both programs, a live Drury Coaches Show that will air on Tuesday nights at 6 pm during the season, and includes live coverage on the station’s website, www.923kick.com, as well as the TuneIn app, and the KICK smart phone app available on Apple and Android devices.

“We are looking forward to starting this partnership with Vision Communications and KICK radio,” said Drury Vice President and Director of Athletics, Nyla Milleson. “When we met with Vision’s management, owner R.C. Amer and station general manager Mark Hill, there was a clear enthusiasm for Drury University and a commitment to deliver a quality broadcast product that I believe our fans will appreciate.”

KICK FM & AM is a News-Talk-Sports format based in Springfield and is part of the city’s only locally owned broadcast media group. KICK carries each game of the Kansas City Royals as a member of that team’s radio network, is a Fox News affiliate, and carries shows that feature Dave Ramsey, Hugh Hewitt, and Bill O’Reilly. The two station’s coverage area covers most of Greene and Christian counties.

In addition to KICK, Vision Communications has managed KADI-FM, a contemporary Christian music station, since 1994.

“The Drury basketball program has distinguished itself on a national level, and KICK is proud to become the flagship station for Drury Sports,” said Vision Communications owner R.C. Amer.

Drury’s broadcast team will once again consist of Ed Beach, currently the assistant athletic director at Drury, area sports broadcaster Ray Meyer, and John Miller, who has been a part of Drury broadcasts for more than 10 years.

Drury’s broadcast schedule on KICK will start on Sunday, Oct. 30, when the Drury Panthers play an exhibition game at Creighton. The regular season starts on Nov. 11, with the Lady Panthers in the Southwest Baptist Crossover Tournament and the Drury men’s team hosting the Greenstay Inn & Suites Tipoff Classic.
