AFTON, Okla.— Drury finished 15th among 19 teams at the Missouri Southern Fall Invitational on Tuesday. The Panthers slipped three spots in Tuesday’s final round ending with a 52-over-par 916 in the 54-hole tournament at Shangri-La Country Club in Afton, Oklahoma. Southwestern Oklahoma State and Missouri Southern squeaked past Drury by one shot, while Oklahoma City was three strokes better to finish 12th.
Missouri-St. Louis and Henderson State tied for first at seven-over-par as Henderson State was 10-under in the final round to surge into a first-place tie.
Hunter Jowers led Drury shooting an eight-over-par 224 in the tournament to tie for 28th in a field of 100 golfers Tryn Titus had the Panthers best round on Tuesday with a 74 and finished 12-over-par (228) and tied for 42nd. Alex Wiseman tied for 45th (230, +14), and Walker Tynes ended with a 234 (+18) to tie for 59th. Jack Cronin finished 30-over (246) and was 86th.
Matt Jackman from Oklahoma Christian was the tournament’s medalist, shooting six-under-par (210).
Drury returns to action in the Midwest Regional Fall Preview hosted by Illinois Springfield Oct. 3-4 at the Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield, Illinois.
