Rockhurst holds off Drury’s late push in 0-0 tie

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Drury Panthers made a late push, but Rockhurst kept DU off of the board to force a 0-0 tie on Sunday at Harrison Stadium in Springfield.

Both teams stayed unbeaten in conference play as the Panthers moved their record to 4-1-4 and 2-0-3 in the GLVC. Rockhurst went to 4-0-3 and 3-0-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

In the game’s final six minutes, Drury threatened and had three corner kicks that gave the Panthers scoring chances against Rockhurst goalkeeper Andrea Dorella. The Hawks defense denied Drury down the stretch, however, and earned the draw.

Panthers goalie Tyler Frolik saw six shots and made three saves en route to the shutout. Dorella was credited with one save and Drury had seven shots in the contest. Kaelan Debbage had a pair of shots to lead the Panthers offense.

The Panthers are idle until Sunday, Oct. 2, when they travel to Missouri S&T. Game time is at 2:30 pm in Rolla.
