Two first half goals lift Drury to win at Southwest Baptist

BOLIVAR, Mo.– The Drury Panthers got two first half goals and recorded their eighth shutout of the season with a 2-0 win at Southwest Baptist in Bolivar, Missouri, on Friday.

The Panthers improved to 5-0-3 and 2-0-2 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Bearcats fell to 1-5-3 and 0-2-2 in the league.

Drury got on the board in the 26th minute as Andrea Camargo scored on a corner kick. Kourtney Tucker set up Camargo for a header that the junior put into the net just under the crossbar for her first goal of the goal.

Tucker then picked up her second assist of the night just before halftime as the Springfield-Central product set up Krysten Schuster for her first goal of the year in the 43rd minute.

Southwest Baptist put up seven shots, but the Drury defense allowed none on goal. Panthers goalkeeper Kaitlin Knetzke has not allowed a goal in 720 minutes, and the eight consecutive blank sheets is a program record that tops a mark that Knetzke set last year.

Drury is back home on Sunday when they host Rockhurst at noon at Harrison Stadium / Curry Sports Complex.
