Drury hosts conference rivals Friday and Saturday
The Drury Panthers host two conference rivals in home games on Friday and Saturday at the O’Reilly Family Event Center. Drury takes on Rockhurst on Friday at 6 pm, then Southwest Baptist Saturday afternoon at 3 pm.

Drury is 7-7 but has won six of their last eight, and they won their first two games in the Great Lakes Valley Conference last weekend with wins on the road over Truman State and William Jewell. Five of the Panthers seven losses have come against teams in the top 25, with one of those setbacks coming in their last game in a 3-1 loss at 17th ranked Central Missouri on Tuesday.

Rockhurst is 8-2 and defeated Southwest Baptist in the league opener to be 1-0 in the GLVC. Southwest Baptist is 7-6, 1-1 in the league, and plays on the road Friday at Avila. The Bearcats have won four of their last five with their lone loss coming against Rockhurst.

The Panthers are 17-48 all-time against Rockhurst, but the two teams split the season series last year. Both matches went five sets and home court held in both contests. Drury owns a 58-21 record all-time against Southwest Baptist and won both games last season, 3-0 at the O’, and 3-1 in Bolivar. The Panthers have won 11 straight over the Bearcats dating back to Sept. 4, 2009.

After this weekend, Drury goes on the road for a non-conference game on Tuesday with a 6 pm game at Harding.
