Panthers draw 0-0 against Truman St.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.– The Drury Panthers continued Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a scoreless home draw against the Bulldogs of Truman St.

Drury remains unbeaten as they move to 4-0-3 overall and 1-0-2 in the league, while the Bulldogs also stay unbeaten as they go to 3-0-4 and 1-0-2 in the GLVC.

The Panthers, flying high after defeating William Jewell 3-0 on Friday, started the game the better of the two sides as they created the first 5 shots of the game. The contest then became a battle in the midfield as the two sides could not seem to find an answer for each other’s defenses. Drury did control possession but could only muster a total of 6 shots in comparison to Truman St’s 1.

The second half was more of the same as Drury controlled possession but could not find a way past Bulldog keeper Tatumn Damron.  The closest either side came was possibly an Andrea Camargo header off a Keeley Combs corner that was saved by Damron.

In the end, both sides exit the contest holding onto their unbeaten records of 4-0-3 for the Panthers and 3-0-4 for the Bulldogs. The shots ended up in favor of Drury, 14 to 4. Kaitlin Knetzke also continued her streak of clean sheets to 7, making 4 saves along the way. Her counterpart Damron made 5 in a clean sheet of her own.

The Panthers return to action on Friday, Sept. 23 at Southwest Baptist. Kickoff will be at 4 pm in Bolivar.
