Valley Honors Bears for Academic Success

ST. LOUIS – A group of 175 Missouri State student-athletes are among an elite crop of Missouri Valley Conference competitors announced Thursday to the 2021-22 MVC Honor Roll.
 
Conference-wide, 126 student-athletes earned the league’s highest academic achievement by capturing the Missouri Valley Conference President’s Council Academic Excellence Award, including nine from Missouri State: Cam Cratic (baseball), Abby Cavaiani (women’s golf), Sierra Fury (women’s soccer), Olivia Krehbiel (softball), Payton Minnis (softball), Hailey Rissinger (women’s swimming), Alex Thorson (women’s swimming), Mara Presot (women’s tennis) and Rachel Lacey (women’s track and field).
 
The President’s Council Academic Excellence Award which requires a minimum 3.8 cumulative grade point average (through the spring 2019 semester), participation in athletics a minimum of two years, and the student-athlete must be within 18 hours of graduation. 
 
Likewise, 47 Bears earned the prestigious Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award. There were a total of 783 student-athletes in the MVC who earned this honor which requires a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the previous two semesters, a minimum 3.2 cumulative grade point average, and participation in athletics a minimum of two years.

The Missouri Valley Conference Honor Roll was also announced with 175 Missouri State student-athletes earning accolades for classroom excellence. To qualify for the Valley Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have recorded a minimum 3.2 grade point average for a specified term (fall 2021 and spring 2022), must have been a member of an athletics team, and must have been enrolled full time during the term they earned the honor.
