Cross Country Announces 2022 Schedule

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri Cross Country announced its 2022 schedule on Monday, releasing the dates of a seven-race slate.

The Tigers, under new head coach Lindsey Anderson, will host three races at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course, including the Mizzou XC Opener on Thursday, Sept. 1 and the Midwest Region Championships on Friday, Nov. 11.

“We are excited to get the fall cross country season underway,” Anderson said. “We have a strong group of returning athletes as well as new incoming men and women who are excited and hungry to make an impact on the program. The Mizzou XC Opener and Gans Creek Classic will allow us multiple opportunities to take advantage of our beautiful home course. We also get to display our program’s facilities and the city of Columbia to a national audience as the host the Midwest Region Championships.”

The team will open its road campaign on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the John McNichols Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.

Missouri will then return to its home course to host the fourth annual Gans Creek Classic on Friday, Sept. 30.

From there, the Tigers will close out the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 15 at the Weis-Crockett Invitational in Stillwater, Okla.

The Southeastern Conference Championships are slated for Friday, Oct. 28 in Oxford Miss. while the NCAA Championships will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19 in Stillwater, Okla.
