Drury Dozen- the top 12 moment’s of ’21-22: #12- Men’s basketball ends regular season with buzzer-beater

The Drury Dozen is an annual list of our favorite moments of the year from Drury Athletics. The list is not necessarily the most significant events but the special games and moments we’ll always associate with 2021-22.
 
We’ll provide honorable mention selections later in the countdown, but, for now, here is our first entry from 2021-22:
 
#12 – In final regular season game, Panthers win at the buzzer over Illinois Springfield
 
Feb. 26, 2022 – O’Reilly Family Event Center
It wasn’t the easiest of years for the Drury men’s basketball team, but the regular season ended on thrilling, upbeat note.
 
In their Senior Day game, the Panthers rallied from 11 points down against Illinois Springfield, then went back and forth against the Prairie Stars down the stretch. Playing in the final game of his career at the O’, Victor Nwagbarachoa put up a shot at the buzzer, saw it bounce high off the rim, then sink through the net to give Drury a 62-61 win.
 
Fittingly, the shot set off a sweet celebration that showed off the team’s improvement in head coach Chris Foster’s first season leading the Panthers program.
