SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— For the third year in a row, Drury University Athletics set a department record as 275 student-athletes were honored by the Great Lakes Valley Conference as Academic All-GLVC recipients.
The Academic All-GLVC honor is bestowed upon student-athletes who meet a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 through two semesters of an academic year at the institution.
Drury’s total of 275 honorees edges the previous record set last year by one as the Panthers produced 274 Academic All-GLVC performers last year. The total is 55 more than Drury had three years ago and has more than doubled the number the Panthers had in 2009-10 when 121 student-athletes received the award.
Drury had 40 student-athletes win the award for a fourth-straight year.
The Drury baseball team had the most honorees with 34. Drury’s women’s golf team had the highest ratio of student-athletes on the Academic All-GLVC list as seven of the eight members on the squad received league honors.
The GLVC is announcing its 2021-22 academic awards throughout the week. Earlier the week, the GLVC released the Team Academic awards.
