Conrad, Prodanov Advance on Day One of NCAA West Prelims

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri track and field saw two of its student-athletes advance to the next round in their respective events on day one of the NCAA West Prelims. The Tigers will continue competition on Thursday with the women’s hammer, javelin, long jump and shot put.

With a time of 3:41.10, Martin Prodanov finished fifth in his heat in the first round of the 1,500m. He automatically advanced to Friday’s quarterfinal rounds.

In the 800m, Christopher Conrad clocked a personal best of 1:47.35, moving him to No. 5 on Mizzou’s all-time top-10 performers list. He finished second in his heat to automatically qualify for Friday’s quarterfinal rounds.

Jason Edwards finished 30th in the javelin with a throw of 61.25m // 200-11. Also in the 1,500m, William Sinclair finished 46th with a clocking of 3:56.99.
