Track and Field Sending 22 to NCAA West Prelims

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri track and field will send 22 student-athletes to the NCAA West Prelims next week, it was announced by the NCAA on Thursday. The four-day meet with be held May 25-28 in Fayetteville, Ark.

On the women’s side, 14 student-athletes will compete in seven individual events with multiple entries in the triple jump (four) and javelin (five). Eight of the marks that advanced student-athletes to NCAA West Prelims were set at last weekend’s SEC Championships.

On the men’s side, eight student-athletes in six individual events with multiple entries in the discus (two) and 1,500m (two). Five of the marks that advanced student-athletes to NCAA West Prelims were set at last weekend’s SEC Championships.

Men’s entries:

800m – Christopher Conrad

1,500m – Martin Prodanov, William Sinclair

High Jump – Roberto Vilches

Triple Jump – Georgi Nachev

Discus – Rece Rowan, Mitch Weber

Javelin – Jason Edwards

Women’s entries:

3,000m Steeplechase – Melissa Menghini

High Jump – Claudina Diaz

Long Jump – Ayele Gerken

Triple Jump – Euphenie Andre, Arianna Fisher, Mara Häusler, Mirieli Santos

Shot Put – Emily Stauffer

Hammer Throw – Sydney Oberdiek

Javelin – Taylor Ciccolini, Ava Curry, Atina Kamasi, Sophia Rivera, Erin Zimmerman
