Panthers open GLVC Tournament on Thursday vs. Indianapolis

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury Panthers will Indianapolis on Thursday at 7:30 pm in the opening round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament held at the Lou Brock Complex at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri.
 
Drury is the number one seed from the Green Division. The Panthers finished the regular season 36-14 and won the Green Division title with a 21-7 record in the GLVC. Indianapolis is the fourth seed from the Blue Division and went 20-29 with an 11-13 mark in the league.
 
The GLVC Tournament is an eight-team, double-elimination tournament. The winner of the Drury-UIndy game will advance to Game 8 on the bracket and play the winner of Quincy and Lindenwood at 7:30 pm on Friday. The loser of DU-UIndy will drop to Game 6 and play the QU-LU loser on Friday at 12:30 pm.
 
The other side of the tournament bracket includes Maryville, the second seed from the Green Division, and the third seed from the Blue, Lewis. Illinois Springfield won the regular season championship in the Blue Division and the Prairie Stars will face William Jewell, the fourth seed from the Green Division.
 
The tournament concludes with the championship game on Sunday.
 
Tickets are $12 per day, students with their college ID and youth ages 6-17 are $5 and children under five are free. Tickets must be purchased in advance online through the GLVC website and no cash is accepted on site. Admittance will begin one hour prior to the first game.
