SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— The Drury University softball team is ranked fourth in the first NCAA-II Midwest regional rankings of the season. The Panthers are 30-11 and 29-8 in games against regional opponents.
Indianapolis (37-5), ranked third nationally, is the top team in the region, while Grand Valley State (28-5) is ranked second, and Southern Indiana (32-10) is third in the Midwest.
Six of the top 10 teams in the Midwest regional rankings are out of the Great Lakes Valley Conference. In addition to UIndy, Southern Indiana, and Drury, Lindenwood (30-6) is ranked fifth, Missouri-St. Louis (26-15) is eighth, and Illinois Springfield (26-13) is ninth.
The top eight teams in the region will advance to the NCAA-II Tournament on May 12-29.
Drury is on the road this weekend with a doubleheader at Lewis on Saturday and at Indianapolis on Sunday.
