Jack Dahlgren to Return for Fifth Year

COLUMBIA, Mo. – University of Missouri men’s swimmer Jack Dahlgren will use his fifth year of eligibility to compete for the Tigers in the 2022-23 season.

“In one of the easiest decisions of my life, I have decided to use my fifth year of eligibility,” Dahlgren said. “I plan to pursue a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering while continuing my swim career at Mizzou. My times are getting better and my goals bigger every year, so the job isn’t finished yet. Thank you to my teammates, coaches and support staff at Mizzou for their support and making this choice so simple.”

During his first four years, Dahlgren accumulated nine All-America honors, including two first team accolades. He currently holds one individual and one relay school record.

In his 2021-22 senior campaign, Dahlgren earned his first individual First Team All-America honor with a sixth-place finish in the 200 back at the NCAA Championships, after breaking the school record with a time of 1:38.85 in the prelims. He also claimed All-America Honorable Mention accolades in the 200 free with a 13th-place finish. Dahlgren posted the best SEC finishes of his career at the 2022 SEC Championships, with fifth-place finishes in the 200 free, 100 back and 200 back.

He also ranks second all-time at Mizzou in the 200 free and 500 free, third in the 100 free and 100 back and eighth in the 200 fly.
