Mizzou Falls to No. 6 Texas A&M, 4-0

COLUMBIA, Mo. — The University of Missouri (7-19, 2-11 SEC) lost to No. 6 Texas A&M (27-1, 13-0 SEC) in its final regular season SEC match, 4-0, on Sunday morning. 

The Tigers competed against a deep Aggie roster, facing two ranked doubles pairs and three ranked singles players. In doubles play, Bronte Murgett and Gabriela Martinez took on No. 2 Tatiana Makarova and Jayci Goldsmith. Elys Ventura and Emelie Schwarte faced No. 44 Carson Branstine and Mary Stoiana.

Mizzou dropped the doubles point and moved on to singles action where Murgett played No. 16 Branstine, Wright competed against No. 18 Makarova, and Ventura took on No. 64 Stoiana. Murgett made a strong second set comeback against Branstine, but closely dropped the match. Schwarte played Goldsmith and nearly defeated her in the second set before competition was halted. Texas A&M soon clinched the match and play was stopped. 

Mizzou will enter the SEC Tournament this week in Gainesville, Florida. Schedules have not yet been released but coverage will be provided for the match.
