Panthers compete in Mule Relays at Central Missouri

WARRENSBURG, Mo.— Drury’s track & field programs competed in their fourth outdoor meet of the season in the Mule Relays hosted by Central Missouri on Friday in Warrensburg.
 
Claire McCune and Katie McCune combined for four top five finishes while men’s runner Liam Lynch was in the top 10 in a pair of events.
 
Women’s Highlights
 

  • Claire McCune and Katie McCune finished 2-3 in the 1500 meter run. Claire was second with a time of 4:24.27 and finished just 0.03 off of the winning time while Katie came in third (4:30.56)
  • Katie McCune was third in the 400 meter run with a time of 59.05
  • Claire McCune was also fifth in the 800 meter run (2:15.37)
  • Ashley Childers was ninth in the 100 meter dash (12.33), while Margaux Shelton was 11th (12.37)
  • Bria Armstrong finished seventh in the 100 meter hurdles (14.97)

 
Men’s Highlights
 

  • Drury had two top 10 finishes in the 1500 meter run as Matt Moler was third in the event (3:51.81) and Cole Sutton came in 10th (3:59.28)
  • Liam Lynch was seventh in a field of 25 runners in the 3000 meter steeplechase with a time of 9:41.91
  • Lynch was later eighth in the 400 meter hurdles posting a time of 56.76

 
Drury competes again next weekend at the Red Wolves Open hosted by Arkansas State in Jonesboro.
