Jack Parker Named SEC Men’s Golfer of the Week

COLUMBIA, MO – Jack Parker of the University of Missouri’s men’s golf team was named the SEC Men’s Golfer of the Week as announced Thursday morning by the league office.

The Columbia native graduate student had a career record-breaking event this past week at the Mizzou-hosted home event, the MU Tiger Invitational. He fired a career-best 54-hole score of 13-under 203 (66-68-69) to claim the individual title, marking his second win of the season. His first came from the beginning fall event at the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate.

Parker’s performance was highlighted by shooting 50 straight holes bogey-free and tallying a total of 15 birdies over the course of the two days. He anchored the Tigers in sealing their claim to their defending team title, boasting a 26-stroke victory at 38-under 826. Parker boosted his season scoring average to 71.36 now.
