Sylvain Garin-Michaud named GLVC Player of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury’s Sylvain Garin-Michaud was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week in men’s tennis for the week of April 4-10.
 
Sylvain Garin-Michaud won both of his singles matches and won both times in doubles as the Panthers went 2-0 last week. The junior from Saint Etienne, France, defeated Semen Tsyrenov from Rockhurst, 6-4, 6-2, and William Jewell’s Ugnius Bickauskis 6-3, 6-2. In doubles, with partner Lukas Stierling, the two posted wins over Rockhurst’s top doubles team 6-1 and William Jewell’s number one pair 6-2.
 
Garin-Michaud is currently ranked 74th in singles at the NCAA-II level. Drury is 7-6 and 3-0 and returns to action on Friday when they play at Missouri-St. Louis for a match starting at noon in St. Louis.
