Taryn Overstreet named GLVC Player of the Week for women’s golf

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury women’s golfer Taryn Overstreet was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Player of the Week for her performance last weekend.

Overstreet won the Kentucky Klash tournament, hosted by Lewis University in Perry Point, Kentucky, last weekend. The sophomore from Jackson, Missouri, won the event by three shots after shooting a six-over-par 149 in the 36-hole tournament. Overstreet posted a one-over 73 on Saturday, then followed with a +4, 76, on Sunday to take medalist honors. Her finish also helped the Panthers to second place in the eight-team event.

Her tournament victory was the first championship won by a Drury women’s golfer since Sept. 24, 2019, when Annaliesa Salazar won the Drury Invitational.

The Panthers compete again on April 4-5 at the Dan Salisbury Memorial hosted by Illinois Springfield at the Norwood Hills Country Club in Springfield, Illinois.
