Jolie McClellan named GLVC Women’s Field Athlete of the Week

SPRINGFIELD, Mo.— Drury track & field athlete Jolie McClellan was named the Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend.
 
McClellan, a sophomore from Raymore, Missouri, placed fourth in the javelin at the ESU Relays hosted by Emporia State last weekend. She delivered a throw of 44.20 meters / 145.00 feet, a mark that is currently ranked 10^th nationally in NCAA-II. The meet was Drury’s outdoor track & field season opener.
 
It is the first such award for McClellan in her career, and she is the first Drury athlete to win the weekly honor since Imani Brown earned it on March 31, 2021. 
 
The Drury men’s and women’s track & field teams compete again on Friday and Saturday at the SBU Bearcat Invitational hosted by Southwest Baptist in Bolivar.
